ANTARCTIC DINOSAURS EXHIBIT AND DINO LAB TOUR AT THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM - DEC. 2019

UChicagoLA Having Fun at the Natural History Museum!

The University of Chicago Alumni Club of Los Angeles enjoyed a fun and informative tour of the Antarctic Dinosaurs Exhibit and the dinosaur lab at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles.

This is the second running of the tour led by alumnus Nathan Smith SM'08, PhD'11, who is a paleontologist at the Natural History Museum. Dr. Smith walked us through his special Antarctic Dinosaurs Exhibit chronicling his own work in Antarctica and gave us an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the dinosaur lab at the NHM, where troves of dinosaur fossils are stored and paleontologists work today to study and uncover dinosaur fossils. We even got to hold a real Tyrannosaurus rex tooth!

Special thanks to Nathan Smith, a proud UChicago alum and Chicagoland native, for graciously volunteering to give this exclusive tour.
