HOCUS POCUS — JOIN-US! Brunch & Legerdemain at The Magic Castle

Sleight of hand, prestidigitation, illusion, magic — call it what you will, it awaits (along with an equally-amazing brunch buffet!) at this exclusive Los Angeles institution.

Join UChicago/L.A. for a brunch event at The Magic Castle — the world’s most exclusive and renowned private club for magicians and supporters of the art of magic, and the world-famous home to the Academy of Magical Arts.

You and your guests will be entertained, enchanted, amazed, and transported to another era where the impossible appears before your very eyes! A typical day — if there even is such a thing at The Magic Castle! — features magic shows that range from miracles right under your nose to full stage illusions that stun an entire room.

The Castle is full of rare memorabilia and magnificent posters, so there’s a lot to see. There’s also a critically-acclaimed full-service dining room and a number of unique bars, each with its own personality. Don’t be surprised to look over your shoulder and find somebody performing a minor miracle. You’ll soon understand why your visit will be one of the most amazing days you’ve ever experienced.

Admission includes the legendary Magic Castle brunch buffet (http://www.magiccastle.com/dining/brunch-menu/) and performances in the Close-Up Gallery, the Parlour of Prestidigitation, and a show in the Palace of Mystery.

The cost per ticket is based on the age of each guest (each price includes the brunch buffet and the “Door Charge” for admission to The Magic Castle):

* Adults (14+) = $70.95
* Young Adult (ages 11–13) = $55.95
* Child (ages 6–10) = $40.95
* Child (5 years or younger) = free admission (when accompanied by an adult)

Due to traditionally high demand for tickets to UChicago/L.A.’s Magic Castle Brunch, ticket purchases by members of the alumni community will be capped at a maximum of four (4) admissions per alumni purchaser.  If you would like to bring your children to this event and therefore must have more than four (4) tickets, please contact UChicago/LA Alumni Club president Andrew Flior via email at uofc.flior@gmail.com to see if additional tickets are available.

Please note that The Magic Castle strictly enforces its Dress Code, which is “country club casual” for Sunday brunch: “Casual wear or athletic attire, denim, shorts, t-shirts, flip-flops, sandals, work boots, sneakers, skorts, rompers, outdoor jackets, and excessively revealing clothing are *ALL prohibited*. Guests who do not meet the dress code or minimum age requirement will not be admitted to the clubhouse. If you have any questions about the dress code, please call the Castle at (323)-851-3313 before you make your visit. When in doubt, OVERDRESS!” Scroll down at this link to review the “Dress code for Saturday & Sunday Brunch Only” section (http://www.magiccastle.com/dresscode/)

We look forward to seeing you at this exclusive Los Angeles institution for a morning / afternoon of magic and miracles — prepare to be ensorcelled!
