John Williams Concert Event - Sept. 2019

A different kind of movie night!

Members and friends of the University of Chicago Alumni Club of Los Angeles were treated to a gorgeous night on September 1st at the Hollywood Bowl. Starting the evening off with a friendly picnic, attendees were able to fill up on dinner and libations before joining the flood of concert goers on their way to the Bowl.

The alumni were treated to a broad repertoire of John Williams’s music from movies including Carousel, E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, Saving Private Ryan, and especially Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Indiana Jones. The incredible Mr. Williams even conducted a number of the pieces himself, while David Newman, another prolific Hollywood composer, directed the remaining pieces.  There was even a light show when the music from Star Wars inspired the entire Bowl to turn on their lightsabers and wave them to the beat of the music!

We look forward to seeing you at the next event!
