December Hike: Beaudry Loop
Join us Sunday, December 3rd, for a beautiful 6 mile loop in the Verdugo Mountains above the city of Glendale. This is a moderate hike with a measured and fairly steady incline; suitable for both experienced hikers and reasonably fit beginners!
The Beaudry Motorway Loop trail will take us up from the city of Glendale up into the Verdugo mountains. As the trail climbs, hikers will be amply rewarded with 360 degree views of La Crescenta, Glendale, the San Gabriel Mountains, Griffith Park, downtown Los Angeles, the Palos Verdes peninsula, Santiago Peak in Orange County, and even Catalina Island! Come see the place you have decided to call home from a whole new perspective.
The trail features a steady and gradual incline along a wide and well-maintained trail well suited to hikers of all levels. The 6 mile trail climbs about 1800 feet and should take about 3 hours. Parking is fairly plentiful along the streets of the hillside residential neighborhood from which the trail begins; look for the intersection of Beaudry Blvd and Beaudry Terrace in Glendale.
We will begin at 10 AM on Sunday December 3rd with an optional late lunch after we finish.
Cost: Free; Optional Self-Host Lunch
