Boulders for the Thirsty: Indoor Rock Climbing + Dinner & Drinks

Beginner-friendly. Come to Cliffs of Id in Culver City to enjoy an afternoon of rock climbing (bouldering and top-rope available) followed by dinner and drinks in hip downtown Culver City.

Cost: Self-host

Saturday, July 22
  • 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM: Rock Climbing at Cliffs of Id
  • 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM: Dinner and Drinks in Downtown Culver City

Cliffs of Id
is a state-of-the-art indoor rock climbing facility located in Culver City, featuring an extensive bouldering area plus top-rope section with over 180 different routes. Dress in your choice of athletic wear and join us for a fun and exhilarating afternoon.

1) Wear loose fitting athletic clothes that you’re OK with getting somewhat dusty / dirty, and typically I suggest pants or capris versus shorts.
2) For those who will be borrowing climbing shoes, I tend to suggest they make sure to have thin socks to wear with the rental shoes.

Beginners are welcome! Cliffs of Id has a large selection of routes that are beginner-friendly and all bouldering sections are amply padded to catch your fall. For those interested in top-roping, David Medovoy and Shao-Yi Qian, AB'15, will be there to show you the ropes and help belay you safely. Athletic aptitude (i.e. doing a pull-up) is not a pre-requisite at all.

This event will be self-host. One-time admission to Cliffs and rental equipment will cost $30 (card accepted). Parking is available in the lot and on surrounding streets (some metered, some not). Check out their website for more information.

We will head over from Cliffs to downtown Culver City around 7 PM for dinner and drinks at an establishment TBD. Feel free to bring a change of clothes; Cliffs is equipped with locker rooms with showers and saunas.
